One of the challenges with managing an old building like All Saints, which has been modified and changed over the years, is that we had no drawings which show us the actual size of it. Getting these sorts of drawings requires surveyors with specialist experience and tools for working on older buildings. They come in and scan the building using lasers and drones. Christians Survey & Inspections Solutions visited All Saints over the summer and spent two days scanning the building to create the drawings. It’s not an inexpensive task, but the National Churches Trust was able to give us nearly 50% of the overall costs to do the work. We hope that having these drawings in place we can consider how best to use our space in the future to provide a space suitable for the whole community.

The National Churches Trust is delighted to support the All Saints’ Church, Child’s Hill with a grant towards the creation of a complete set of drawings of the church building.
We want to see churches open and available, in use and valued. The future of churches, chapels and meeting houses is in our hands. We need to ensure they are kept in good repair and being used for worship and community activities. Our support for churches also means that their architecture and heritage is safeguarded for the future.
We receive no direct financial support from government or church authorities and rely on the support of the public to continue our vital work.
Thanks to the generosity of our Friends and supporters, since 1953 we have provided over 12,000 grants and loans and ensured that churches, chapels and meeting houses throughout the UK have remained in good repair and with modern facilities to ensure that they can serve the needs of local people.
